Steve Job's last words...

Steve Job's last words...

“I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world.
In others’ eyes, my life is an epitome of success.

However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.
At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.
In the darkness, I look at the green lights from the life supporting machines and hear the humming mechanical sounds, I can feel the breath of God and of death drawing closer…
Now I know, when we have accumulated sufficient wealth to last our lifetime, we should pursue other matters that are unrelated to wealth…
Should be something that is more important:
Perhaps relationships, perhaps art, perhaps a dream from younger days …
Non-stop pursuing of wealth will only turn a person into a twisted being, just like me.
God gave us the senses to let us feel the love in everyone’s heart, not the illusions brought about by wealth.
The wealth I have won in my life I cannot bring with me.
What I can bring is only the memories precipitated by love.
That’s the true riches which will follow you, accompany you, giving you strength and light to go on.
Love can travel a thousand miles. Life has no limit. Go where you want to go. Reach the height you want to reach. It is all in your heart and in your hands.
What is the most expensive bed in the world? – “Sick bed” …
You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you.
Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost – “Life”.
When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading – “Book of Healthy Life”.
Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face the day when the curtain comes down.
Treasure Love for your family, love for your spouse, love for your friends…

Treat yourself well. Cherish others.”

Kainchi Dham: The temple Steve Jobs advised Mark Zuckerberg to visit

Kainchi Dham: The temple Steve Jobs advised Mark Zuckerberg to visit

India TV News Desk [ Updated 01 Oct 2015, 15:21:50

New Delhi: During the townhall meeting with PM Modi, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that when his company was going through a rough patch, Steve Jobs advised him to visit a temple in India, where the Apple co-founder had also experienced life-changing spiritual reflection.

Deeply influenced by the Indian spiritualism in 70s, Jobs visited Kainchi Dham Ashram, in Nainital, in the state of Uttarakhand (the Ashram of Baba Neem Karoli or Baba Neeb Karori, considered a reincarnation of Lord Hanuman); and he is believed to have got the vision at this place to create Apple.
Hollywood actress Julia Roberts is also said to be influenced by Neem Karoli Baba and was drawn to Hinduism because of him.

Here are some interesting facts to know about Kainchi Dham Ashram:

1- Kainchi is a mountain ashram located in the Kumoan Hills in Uttarakand, approximately 38 km from Naini Tal.
2- The first temple of Lord Hanuman was inaugurated in June 15, 1964.

3- In 1962, Maharajji (Baba Neem Karoli) built a chabootara (platform) around a place where two spiritual gurus Sadhu Premi Baba and Sombari Maharaj had performed Yagyas in Kainchi village.

4- The Hanuman temple was later built over the platform thus establishing the Kainchi Ashram.
5- Baba Neem Karoli died on September 10, 1973. A temple for him was subsequently built at the Ashram. His statue was consecrated on June 15, 1976.

6- Neem Karoli Baba left his home in 1958 when his youngest daughter was 11 years old. He wandered throughout northern India as a sadhu and was known by many names.
7- Karoli Baba has temples in several places including Lucknow and an Ashram in Texas, US. According to his website, Maharajji established at least 108 temples.
8- Anyone who wants to visit the Ashram in Kainchi village needs to request prior permission.  After a reference from one of the older devotees, one can stay for three days. The ashram is closed for a large portion of the year as it becomes very cold there.
9- A lot of foreigners visit the Ashram. Spiritual leaders Ma Jaya, Ram Dass, musicians Jai Uttal and Krishna Das, humanitarian Larry Brilliant, scholar and writer Yvette Rosser and Daniel Goleman are among his devotees.

10- Apple founder Steve Jobs visited the Ashram to meet Neem Karoli Baba with his friend Dan Kottke. However, he could  not meet Baba who had died before his arrival.

Just when you thought you already knew all about Steve Jobs, a series of leaks from the upcoming biography Becoming Steve Jobs provides a glimpse into some things about this fascinating tech visionary that no one outside of his inner circle was aware of.

Specifically...

1. Steve Jobs considered buying Yahoo.
With Google's dominance in search, Steve Jobs wanted to find some way for Apple to get a strong foothold into this lucrative business. He and Bob Iger--the CEO of the Walt Disney Company, who became a close personal friend--talked about many different things, one being the search business. Talking about his discussions with Jobs, Iger says, "We would stand at a whiteboard brainstorming. We talked about buying companies. We talked about buying Yahoo together."

2. Steve Jobs turned down Tim Cook's offer to donate his liver for a transplant.

In January 2009--a little less than three years before his death in October 2011--Jobs announced that he would take a six-month leave of absence to focus on fighting off the pancreatic cancer that had ravaged his body. He needed a liver transplant, but this was complicated by the fact that he had a rare blood type. As it turned out, current Apple CEO Tim Cook has the same rare blood type, and he offered to give Jobs a part of his own liver to save his life. According to Cook, Jobs refused. Said Cook, "He cut me off at the legs, almost before the words were out of my mouth. No, I'll never let you do that. I'll never do that." Cook continued, "Steve only yelled at me four or five times during the 13 years I knew him, and this was one of them."

3. Steve Jobs was against developing an Apple television.
In his biography of Jobs, Walter Isaacson claims that Jobs had big plans for Apple's entry into the television market. According to Isaacson, Jobs wanted to "do for television sets what he had done for computers, music players, and phones." However, according to Becoming Steve Jobs, this was not the case at all. In fact, the authors quote Apple chief designer Jony Ive as saying that Jobs told him, "I just don't like television. Apple will never make a TV again."
